5th February - Geoconservation Workday
The weather was dry (as it often seems to be on our workdays: I’m not sure how that works …), and 11 of us laboured for a morning and made quite an impact, which I’ve tried to capture in the before, during and after pictures attached.
We’ll be back down there again on Saturday 25th February starting at 10:00, working mostly on two sections that we didn’t manage to get to this morning.
11th June - Ogbourne St Andrew Workday
Six of us spent a useful day on the Railway Path earlier today. The recent wind has been tossing things about, and we came across a lot of branches and small trees that needed moving away from the path. All very tangled at times. We met lots of people on the path including a large group of student from St Joseph’s school in Swindon who were on their Duke of Edinburgh event. Having camped overnight at Postern Hill, they were walking their way to Barbury.
We, however, walked about a mile and a quarter south from our meeting point, pruning as we went and getting as far as the farm bridge running across the path which is (still) shedding masonry. We tidied up under it before returning home.
My thanks to Alan, Chris, Howard, Norman and Tim.
Best wishes
Dick
